Biography

Alfonso Sacco was born in 1960 in Portici (NA); very young he attended the art studio of his aunt, daughter of the painter C. Arnese. He got his bachelor and specialization in interior and fabric designer. He met the gallerist Lucio Amelio and one of his works “VESUVIANDO” became part of his private collection. in 1990 he participates in the exhibition ”Mare Pulito”, held at the National Museum of Pietrarsa. Also in the 90s he was one of the founders of 80055 ARTE, a group of twenty-two artists and signed the first manifesto “Signs and colors against Mafia” in defense of image and movie operators. He supported the philosophical thought of the MAU (Universal Artistic Movement) and the world group of Art Brut (Dubuffet). It is present in the Multimedia Museum of Art, Culture, History and Society of the Municipality of Portici (NA). In 2010 he was awarded two prizes: the “DAVID di MICHELANGELO” prize, a high recognition for personalities from the world of art, science and culture and the special prize for human rights “SALVO D’ACQUISTO. In 2011 in Sirmione (BS), he received the “GOLDEN LION for the ART” award. It is present in the (CAM) catalog of modern Italian art of the twentieth century. In the last year he has participated in the traveling exhibition “ITALIARTS” which was held in the cities of Stockholm, Helsinki, Tallinn, at the Italian Cultural Institutes. In 2014 he was chosen by the art critic Vittorio Sgarbi for the Porto Franco project. In 2017 he won the prize with his participation in the editorial project “Art in the kitchen, artists meet chefs. In 2019 he created a permanent installation dedicated to violence against women in the park of the City of Portici.

He lives between Portici and Milan.
